Beechstock 2011: Some personal favourites

Having been working with Teaser for a few months, it was only natural that that I'd be at the Beechstock Music Festival at some point to record them playing on the first day ... what I'd not originally planned was to be making images over the whole three days

A very slow shutter speed catches the motion of a dancer from Kobika Dance ...
... and, at the other end of the spectrum, a faster shutter speed freezes the Kobika Starlites in mid-air.
Larger bands can be a problem; the number of people on stage means that you may have to wait to get a clear shot of the drummer.

"di de di dodi dido" ... Filthy Phil (in child-friendly mode) with card-flipping assistant, Chris.
Pete, from Moon Hill Karaoke, gets grabbed from behind the sound desk by the John Berry Band, whose set included some fairly obscure Free.

And sometimes, someone is just enjoying themselves so much ... (listening to Fox River Conspiracy at the time)
Splash The Cash ... Highly entertaining: Johnny Cash Covers, and nice to see a Shure 55-series microphone.

Marty of Marty Tone and the Rymarts
A good thing ... The marquee's translucent roof took the bright, harsh sunlight from the clear, sunny days over the bank holiday weekend and made it into something bright, but beautifully soft and even - perfect photographer's light.
Be-free - This image and the following one are the only images shot using a mix of daylight and flash, which helps to freeze the motion a little, while still catching some of the movement.
I was amazed by the confidence and lack of nerves shown by the youngest members.
Loveless
Cheryl Hillier
And finally, Teaser.
