An HDR Image: Sheep May Safely Graze ...

... which, as the aria from cantata no. 208, is one of my favourite pieces of  J. S. Bach's music involving recorder and voice.

The church in the corner ... that's St. Lawrence's at West Wycombe.

Frequently the best images will come from places you're familiar with, simply because you know them ... you've looked at them at different times, in different weathers, under different lights, and, like an old friend, you have a good idea of how to catch them at their best.

And because you've visited regularly, you're also a familiar thing to the sheep, who'll spread out to graze with their heads down, rather than staring at you to check that you've not sprouted teeth, claws and a jar of mint sauce since they last looked you over.

The technical bit: Shot with a 24mm lens, a series of bracketed exposures with a 2-stop exposure interval were merged and then tone mapped using HDRSoft's Photomatix program, and further post processing carried out in Adobe Photoshop.
